Overview

Soowon Hong is an experienced employment lawyer, admitted to practice in Korea since 2007.

Soowon provides pragmatic advice to multinational clients on Korean law based on her extensive experience on a wide variety of labor and employment matters in Korea. Examples include:

  • Korean employment law advice
  • Policies, handbooks, and employment contracts
  • Hiring, performance management and termination of employees
  • Employment law aspects of restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, out-sourcing and in-sourcing, and redundancies
  • Internal investigations for violation of policies and local law
  • Representation of clients for Ministry of Employment and Labor investigations

Soowon’s in-depth knowledge of the law, language and culture in Korea and her experience of having lived in the U.S. and Europe for more than 10 years informs her practice, bringing clarity to workplace uncertainties for her multinational clients. Her guidance, document reviews and communication can be conducted in English or Korean, bringing precision and efficiency to the counseling process.

Acting as a point of contact for Korean and international corporations with outbound employment needs, Soowon also strategically manages international labor and employment legal advice, connecting clients with local counsel to facilitate their needs.

Before joining Littler, Soowon was a partner in a well-recognized law firm in Korea and has practiced law for more than 15 years. She received an LLM in the United Kingdom and worked in London for a UK law firm with a global presence.
