Littler’s Workplace Policy Institute® (WPI™) was created to be an effective resource for the employer community to engage in legislative and regulatory developments that impact their workplaces and business strategies. WPI harnesses the deep subject-matter knowledge of Littler – the nation’s largest employment and labor law firm devoted exclusively to representing management – to ensure that policymakers in Washington and around the country hear the voice of employers. WPI is engaged with Congress, the executive branch and the courts on the most critical employment, labor and benefits issues of the day, including the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the National Labor Relations Act, Title VII and ever-changing implementing regulations.

We provide timely alerts and updates on federal, state and local legislative, regulatory and judicial developments that affect employers. In addition, WPI can help employers shape workplace policy in a variety of ways.

Legislative and Regulatory Intelligence Report Site

Becoming a member of the WPI will give you access to the latest in federal and state policy actions. You will have access to exclusive content, including:

  • The Legislative and Regulatory Tracking Reports – monthly digests of federal, state and local legislation, regulations and ordinances that impact the workplace. Each report provides summaries of and links to the measures, and details their stage in the legislative process so readers can identify which items are advancing in their jurisdictions before enactment.
  • The Insider Report – monthly newsletter detailing key labor, employment and benefits news and events at the federal, state, local and global levels. The newsletter is your “go-to guide" to the legislative and regulatory developments that matter to you, and it provides insight into the significance of each month's developments.
  • Littler GPS – Littler’s online database that provides customizable tracking of enacted state and federal laws and regulations. Updated weekly, Littler GPS keeps users informed by sending email alerts with links that allow quick navigation to the new information. The tool also provides concise, substantive analysis regarding how employers will be impacted, and most important, what employers need to do to comply.

News and Publications

The WPI keeps employers informed about the ever-changing landscape of labor, employment and benefits policy.

  • ASAPs and Insights – Written by members of the WPI team and Littler attorneys, these articles provide timely analysis of important legislative and regulatory developments impacting workplace policy.
  • Friday Wrap-Up Email – A summary of all the top issues that came out of Capitol Hill and the administration during the week. It also features a round-up of all the relevant publications that Littler put out and a preview upcoming legislative and regulatory activity

WPI Insider Briefings

The Insider Briefings are like being a part of a Monday morning national staff meeting that connects top management and human resource executives with Washington D.C.’s key congressional and agency principals. Join us for Littler’s Workplace Policy Institute (WPI) weekly call with influential labor and employment policymakers. The format is a brief, question-and-answer between a WPI host and a special guest – a federal government power broker or a Littler subject matter expert – to discuss the latest policy issues and how they will affect employers.

Date/Time: 9:30-9:50 am, Eastern Time, every Monday
