SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 18, 2012) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has been recognized as a “Gold Standard Firm” for the second year in a row by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF). The Gold Standard designation is bestowed on firms that have assisted its female attorneys in achieving top leadership positions and compensated them well.
“The retention and advancement of women at Littler is one of the firm’s core priorities, and we are extremely proud to once again be recognized by WILEF with the Gold Standard label for our continued efforts,” said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director of the firm.
Firms earning Gold Standard certification must show that women comprise a sizeable portion of their equity partners, top leadership positions, governance and compensation committees and most highly-paid partners. Additionally, firms must have 100 or more practicing U.S. attorneys.
Littler offers a number of female-friendly initiatives and policies, including its Women’s Leadership Initiative, which assists women in maintaining a balance between career and personal life while pursuing leadership opportunities. The firm also offers flex-time and remote working opportunities. Currently, Littler has a practice in which women account for 48 percent of its attorneys.
