Overview

Heather E. Griffin represents clients before a number of state and federal agencies such as the EEOC, NLRB, NYS DHR, NYCCHR, and other agencies across the country, including California and Massachusetts, as well as in state and federal court. She has broad experience with representative matters including discrimination, retaliation, and failure to accommodate, under state, city, and federal laws, as well as wage and hour matters brought under the NYLL and FLSA. Heather has experience with single plaintiff and class action claims and both state and federal appeals.

In addition to litigation, Heather provides extensive counseling to clients, both in the context of preventative counseling involving issues with current employees, as well as comprehensive reviews of policies, conducting training sessions, and internal FLSA audits. She regularly drafts employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, and handbooks for employers operating in a number of jurisidictions. Heather also conducts internal investigations for clients when requested.

A Florida native, Heather began practicing in South Florida at a boutique complex commercial firm. During this time, she second chaired several state and federal trials involving commercial (franchise and contract) disputes. She also began providing employment counsel and defending employment suits brought against the firm’s existing clients and determined to focus her practice on employment law.
