Meyling Ly Named to Lawyers of Color’s 2014 Hot List

DALLAS, TX (July 23, 2014) – Meyling Ly, an attorney in the Dallas office of  Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been included in Lawyers of Color’s second annual Hot List Issue. The list recognizes early-to mid-career minority attorneys working as in-house counsel, government attorneys, and law firm associates and partners who are excelling in the legal profession. Ly was recently honored at the regional Southwest Hot List Reception.

“Mey is a tremendous attorney and most deserving of this recognition. We congratulate her on this accomplishment and look forward to her continued professional success,” said Dallas Office Managing Shareholder Earl “Chip” Jones.

Hot List honorees were chosen through a two-pronged process. The selection committee spent months reviewing nominations and researching bar association publications and legal blogs in order to identify promising candidates. Nominations from mentors, peers, and colleagues were accepted. The selection committee also made editorial picks of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments, especially those active in legal pipeline initiatives.

At Littler, Ly’s practice focuses on a broad range of employment matters, including complex litigation and jury trials, discrimination and harassment, leaves of absence and disability accommodation and workplace safety and health. Active in a number of professional organizations, she is currently the president of the Dallas Bar Association of Young Lawyers. She has also served in leadership capacities for the Dallas Asian Bar Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation, and the National Association of Asian American Professionals. In addition to being named to the Lawyers of Color Hot List, Ly was named one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas in D Magazine and was featured in Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Labor and Employment Law.

She received her J.D., from the Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law, cum laude and her B.A., from Texas A&M University, cum laude.
