Littler's Workplace Policy Institute (WPI) presents its fall insider briefing covering recent federal and state developments affecting multi-state and national employers. As the labor and employment law landscape continually shifts across the country, hear directly from federal regulators, industry experts, and Littler attorneys as to what your company can expect in 2020 and how it can engage in efforts to ameliorate legislative and regulatory burdens.

Littler's WPI is a recognized leader impacting labor and employment policy in the legislative, regulatory, and judicial branches of both federal and state governments. WPI is uniquely situated to give clients who want a voice in Washington and the states the inside story on what changes are most likely to occur in labor and employment law in the remainder of 2019 and into 2020. WPI is also directly involved in challenging the recent shifts happening in many state governments that are moving towards more restrictive workplace regulation, on behalf of Littler clients around the country.

Attendees at WPI's insider briefing will hear from attorneys knowledgeable in every aspect of labor and employment law, at both the federal and state levels.

Discussion topics will include:

  • WPI's State of the States
  • California's A.B. 5 Independent Contractor Legislation
  • A review of recent rulemakings from the Department of Labor
  • Developments at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
  • An update from the National Labor Relations Board
  • Drug testing in the workplace and OSHA
  • Development of intermittent leave
  • The future of work: Automation and AI in the workplace
