This program will be a lively look at new developments in employment and labor law.

(PLEASE NOTE, in response to numerous requests, we have extended the length of the program to end at 11:00 a.m., rather than 10:30 a.m. as in prior years.)

The speakers will review the effects, positive and negative, of recent litigation and legislative and agency trends, as well as explore a wide range of cutting-edge employment/labor topics impacting Northern California employers of all sizes, such as:

  • Demise of the “De minimis" rule in California off-the-clock cases
  • Contractor v. employee, exempt v. nonexempt; avoiding the misclassification minefield
  • New and already improved:  California clarifies salary history ban
  • Hitting the “pause" button – perils of workplace recordings
  • SCOTUS succession and other developments in DC
  • What labor/employment bills did Gov. Brown just sign?
  • New employment case law that you should know about
