The laws regarding criminal background checks are becoming increasingly complex, particularly for employers in Massachusetts. Effective May 4, 2012, the CORI Reform Act made significant changes to the manner in which employers access and use criminal history information. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission also recently issued a lengthy guidance on how employers may use criminal history information without violating Title VII.

The combination of recent legislation and increased scrutiny by federal and state agencies on the use of criminal history records have left many employers frustrated. In this complimentary webinar, employers will receive practical tips and advice on:

  • What the CORI Reform Act means for your business and how to comply
  • The interplay between the CORI Reform Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act
  • Avoiding discrimination charges when using criminal history information
