China's Labor and Employment Laws: What It Means for U.S. Employers
Thursday, July 19
- 7:00 AM PDT
China's emergence as a world economy in the past decade has made it both a power that must be reckoned with and a marketplace that companies cannot ignore. Increasingly, U.S. companies are seeking and finding business opportunities not just with China, but in China with their own operations and employees.
We will discuss the growth of employment and labor legislation in China, and the significant ways in which Chinese labor employment law differs from U.S. employment law. The program will provide an overview of such topics as protective wage and hour legislation, termination and employment at-will, restrictive covenants, and collective labor rights.
