This article discusses New York City’s new law to protect jobless New Yorkers, giving them the right to sue employers who deny them based on their unemployment. Littler’s Barbara Hoey notes that although this law will not have a “disastrous impact” on New York City’s economy,  the perception among companies that doing business in the city will become that much more foreboding as a result of the new law.
