U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has provided the new Form I-9 in its recently published “Handbook for Employers”—with the express caveat that it may only be used on or after April 3, 2009. As discussed in a previous entry, USCIS originally planned to implement the new I-9 on February 2, 2009, but interest group pressure resulted in a last-minute postponement.
