Doug Parker Takes the Reins In Littler’s Portland Office as Office Managing Shareholder

PORTLAND, OR (August 6, 2013) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has appointed Douglas S. Parker as office managing shareholder of the firm's Portland office. Parker, who succeeds Howard Rubin, will also continue to manage Littler’s Anchorage office, which he founded in 2010.

“Doug has an impressive track record of providing exceptional service, a longstanding pillar of strength for the firm, and developing valuable relationships with clients and attorneys alike,” said Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, in a joint statement. “We look forward to Doug’s leadership and vision as we build the firm’s presence in Portland to align with Littler’s national and globally-focused platform.”

“As the world’s largest employment and labor law firm, Littler has an exceptionally strong knowledge and experience resource base that allows it to efficiently and expertly represent employers in our region,” said Parker.  “I look forward to working with firm leadership and my colleagues to be a part of the growth of the office,” added Parker. “We are committed to, and excited about, the future of Littler in this region.”

For more than 30 years, Parker has represented employers throughout the Pacific Northwest and in Alaska in a broad range of employment litigation assignments including class actions, wrongful discharge, wage and hour, employment discrimination, retaliation, health care and other ERISA claims, contract interference, non-competition and intellectual property matters. He also routinely handles traditional labor matters including collective bargaining, unfair labor practices and labor arbitrations. Parker is admitted in Oregon, Washington and Alaska and practices in state and federal courts and administrative agencies in those states.

Parker is regularly recognized on several prestigious industry lists, including Chambers USA (2012 and 2013) and The Best Lawyers in America (2006-2013), and has been named a “Super Lawyer” in Oregon and Alaska.
