Littler Welcomes Shareholder Gregory Tumolo in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (May 20, 2024) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, continues to expand its shareholder ranks with the addition of Gregory Tumolo in its Providence, Rhode Island office. He joins the firm from Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, where he was co-chair of the Employment Advice and Counseling practice group. Tumolo’s arrival follows several recent additions at the shareholder level, including Stephen Shore (Toronto), John Tripoli (Milwaukee) and John Nordlund (San Diego).

Tumolo counsels clients on a wide range of employment and labor law matters, with a particular emphasis on providing business-minded compliance solutions and mitigating legal risks. He regularly advises employers on issues relating to wage and hour compliance; accommodations and leave of absence management; and discrimination, harassment and retaliation prevention. Tumolo also trains and advises management on workplace legal issues and conducts workplace audits and investigations.

“As employers continue to navigate new regulatory and societal changes impacting their businesses, strategic counselors like Greg are essential to effectively manage their workforces and achieve their broader strategic goals,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Greg is a trusted advisor who excels at providing thoughtful, informed guidance to clients and we are thrilled to have him as the newest member of the firm.”

Tumolo has also litigated claims pertaining to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, and wage and hour violations before state courts and administrative agencies. He has defended employers in cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights, and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Tumolo’s practice also includes the preparation of employment-related agreements, including drafting and enforcing restrictive covenants.

“Greg’s deep roots in New England and extensive experience with state agencies will be a vital resource for our clients operating in the region,” said Asha Santos, office managing shareholder for the firm’s Providence, Boston and Portland, Maine offices. “His impressive depth and breadth of knowledge across several pressing issues facing employers make him a tremendous addition to the office.”

“I was attracted to Littler not only because of the strength of its global platform and unparalleled resources for employers, but also by its impressive talent,” said Tumolo. “I look forward to working with such skilled colleagues as we help guide clients through this period of transformation.”

Tumolo received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Bryant University. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
