Littler Welcomes Joe Lewis as Shareholder in Northern California
WALNUT CREEK, CA (June 29, 2026) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Joe Lewis as a shareholder in its Walnut Creek, California office. Lewis joins the firm from Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, bringing extensive experience representing employers in sophisticated labor and employment matters, including workplace litigation, labor relations issues, and government investigations.
“Amid a steady stream of regulatory developments, litigation risks, and workplace headwinds, 2026 has proven to be a particularly busy year for our clients operating in California,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Joe's deep experience in complex employment litigation and regulatory matters across the Golden State enhances our ability to deliver the practical, business-focused counsel our clients rely on to navigate this increasingly challenging employment environment. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
Lewis regularly defends employers against claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and other workplace disputes. He also represents employers in class and representative actions, as well as traditional labor and trade secret matters. His experience spans all stages of litigation, from pre-suit counseling and strategic case assessment through trial, arbitration, and negotiated resolution.
“California presents a unique set of factors for employers marked by frequent regulatory changes and a highly active litigation landscape,” said Gregory Iskander, Littler’s Walnut Creek office managing shareholder. “Joe has earned a strong reputation for guiding employers through this complexity, and his deep understanding of the region will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our office.”
Lewis advises employers across a range of industries—including aerospace, automotive, and healthcare—on compliance, workplace investigations, labor relations, and emerging employment law issues. In addition to his litigation practice, Lewis counsels clients on the labor and employment aspects of corporate transactions, drafts and negotiates employment-related agreements, and represents employers in government investigations, such as matters before the U.S. Department of Justice's Immigrant and Employee Rights Section.
"Littler has built an impressive platform for serving employers in California and globally, combining unparalleled employment law experience with a strong, clear-eyed understanding of clients' business priorities,” said Lewis. “As workplace issues continue to evolve and grow more complicated – especially in California – I look forward to working alongside a team dedicated to helping employers navigate risk, address challenges, and position their organizations for long-term success.”
Lewis received his J.D., cum laude, from University of San Francisco School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
