Brendan Fitzgerald Named Co-Chair of Littler’s Labor Practice Group

  • 3 minute read

COLUMBUS, OH (January 23, 2026) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has appointed shareholder Brendan Fitzgerald as a co-chair of its renowned Labor Practice Group. He joins the group’s current co-chairs – shareholders Jonathan Levine and Brooke Niedecken – and succeeds Tanja Thompson, who will continue to focus on her active practice and role as Memphis office managing shareholder.

Fitzgerald represents employers in a wide range of labor management relations matters, from National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and federal court proceedings to election campaigns and labor relations assessments to labor arbitrations and collective bargaining planning efforts. He partners with company leaders to develop comprehensive business strategies for labor relations, along with strong employee engagement strategies that foster positive employee relations. Additionally, Fitzgerald advises multinational corporations on formulating and implementing strategies to respond to global campaigns initiated by labor unions and non-governmental organizations.

“The modern labor relations landscape has given rise to a multitude of changes in the workplace and raised the stakes for employers to maintain strong employee engagement and labor relations strategies,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Brendan’s deep understanding of these dynamics, along with his ability to help clients engage with employees in a way that strengthens workplaces and helps achieve business objectives, make him an ideal choice to co-chair our Labor Practice Group alongside Jon and Brooke. We are thrilled to have him step into this role and extend our gratitude to Tanja for her outstanding leadership and countless contributions."

As one of the most experienced and comprehensive management-side labor law groups, Littler has more than 250 labor attorneys that serve as trusted advisors to companies ranging from top global brands to those newer to complex labor relations issues. The team has advised thousands of clients on labor issues (including almost 50% of the Fortune 100), bargained with every major union in the US, and managed numerous high-profile litigation matters, unfair labor practice charges and NLRB election petitions.

“A proactive approach to labor relations not only helps address issues like employee dissatisfaction or lack of engagement that can lead to union curiosity, but is also good for the bottom line in creating happier workforces and avoiding the costs and business disruption that can come even with unsuccessful organizing efforts,” said Fitzgerald. “Our team’s ability to counsel leadership teams in this realm is unmatched, and I couldn’t be prouder to follow in Tanja’s footsteps and work alongside Jon and Brooke to continue building on the success of the practice.”

A recognized thought leader, Fitzgerald regularly speaks and writes on modern labor issues, including a recent piece in Chief Executive Magazine on how CEOs can navigate an increasingly multigenerational workforce. He also served as a lead contributor to Littler’s 2025 Labor Survey Report, which examines the key factors motivating organizing activity and the steps both unionized and non-unionized organizations are taking to adjust to modern labor trends.

Based in the firm’s Columbus office, Fitzgerald received his B.S. from Miami University and his J.D. from Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
