Mona Rainwater represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, with a practice that spans employment litigation, workplace investigations, administrative agency proceedings, and day-to-day advice and counsel. She partners with employers to address complex workplace issues while balancing legal compliance, operational needs, and employee relations considerations.

Mona regularly advises employers on workplace policies and compliance obligations, including leave and accommodation issues, employee privacy, artificial intelligence and emerging workplace technologies, background screening, employee monitoring and recording practices, internal investigations, discipline and termination decisions, and multistate employment law compliance. She also assists employers with drafting and revising handbooks, employment agreements, workplace policies, and other employment-related documentation. This reflects both the compliance and counseling aspects of her practice and the types of issues employers face in rapidly evolving workplaces.

Mona represents employers before federal, state, and local administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, state civil rights agencies, and labor departments. She routinely defends employers against allegations involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, disability accommodation, leave, wage and hour compliance, and related workplace claims.

Her litigation experience includes representing employers throughout all phases of employment disputes in state and federal court, from pre-litigation strategy and discovery through dispositive motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation. She has experience handling single-plaintiff employment claims and counseling clients through high-risk personnel matters before they develop into litigation.

Before joining Littler, Mona was an associate in the New York office of a national full-service law firm, where she represented management clients in employment litigation, administrative proceedings, and employment counseling matters. She also served as an assistant corporation counsel with the New York City Law Department, representing New York City agencies in federal and state court litigation and before administrative agencies.
