Overview

Irene "Ivy" Fitzgerald advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters including class actions and representative actions, as well as single plaintiff litigation. She has successfully obtained favorable outcomes for large and small employers in litigated matters including wage and hour claims, and claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, failure to accommodate disability, and whistleblowing. In doing so, Ivy provides clients with proactive strategies to manage risk, minimize exposure, and control costs.

Ivy has represented employers throughout California. She has represented companies in a wide range of industries, including oil and natural gas, agriculture, construction, healthcare, gaming, fast food, transportation, manufacturing, fitness, property management, and service industries. Her successes include settling challenging class and Private Attorney General Act cases for nominal percentages of multimillion dollar wage and hour claims, prevailing on motions dismissing and/or greatly limiting the scope of single plaintiff discrimination and harassment claims, and successfully arguing appellate motions limiting the scope of matters and enforcing arbitration agreements. In determining how to approach each case, Ivy considers both financial and business factors so that matters can be resolved in the best manner possible for that particular client.
