August Johannsen advises and represents employers in legal disputes. Prior to joining Littler, August worked for a national full-service law firm in its Commercial Litigation and Labor and Employment practice groups, which gave him broad litigation experience with investigating claims, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and mediation. He second-chaired a two-week federal jury trial relating to executive compensation issues representing an institution of higher education and obtained a full defense verdict.

Previously, August worked at a plaintiff-side employment litigation firm in Washington D.C., where he represented primarily federal employees in administrative discipline proceedings. He first-chaired an administrative evidentiary hearing and obtained a successful result for the client.
