Overview

Ashley J. Brick practices exclusively in the area of labor and employment law, defending both large corporations and small businesses in lawsuits and agency claims, including class actions, which involve:

  • Independent contractor misclassification
  • Employee wage and hour claims
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
  • Retaliation
  • Wrongful termination

Ashley has defended clients in heavily litigated and complex cases from conception through resolution. She also counsels clients on federal and state wage and hour laws and a variety of employment laws. Ashley works within the realities of the client’s business to help her clients manage and understand risk, and to achieve practical solutions efficiently.

While her clients span a variety of industries, many of her cases include defending retailers and healthcare providers. Some of Ashley’s advice and counsel practice centers on small residential care facilities throughout California. She works frequently with residential care facility operators regarding many aspects of compliance with California and federal laws, including federal sleep time laws and California wage and hour laws. Ashley provides live trainings to facility operators, regularly reviews and prepares various types of employment agreements, and advises operators on issues concerning wage and hour laws, disciplining employees, and company policies.
