Littler Mendelson Welcomes Stacey E. James; Strengthens San Diego Presence

San Diego, CA/ February 1, 2007 -- Littler Mendelson, the nation's largest labor and employment law firm, continues its expansion with the addition of its newest Shareholder, Stacey E. James, to Littler's San Diego office.

Ms. James comes to Littler from the San Diego office of Sheppard Mullin, where she defended employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, defamation, invasion of privacy, workplace violence, overtime and other wage/hour issues, class actions, and related matters.

Prior to her legal career, Ms. James worked as a human resources professional, and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Human Resource Certification Institute of the Society for Human Resource Management. Ms. James has practiced exclusively in the field of labor and employment law, with an emphasis on advising management on wage and hour matters, employee discipline and termination, employment policies and procedures, employee benefits, and fair employment practices.

As a long-time San Diegan, Ms. James is active in the San Diego business community, where she frequently lectures for employer organizations such as the San Diego Employers Association, North County Personnel Association and the San Diego Chapter of the American Payroll Association. Further, she has guest lectured for the University of California at San Diego and San Diego State University among others. Ms. James is also an active volunteer for Mama's Kitchen, a non-profit charitable organization that provides meals to San Diego County residents living with HIV and AIDS.

Ms. James earned her B.S. in Human Resources Management, from San Diego State University in 1991, and her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1996. She is admitted to practice in California.
