Understanding Alaska’s Ballot Measure Number 1: The State’s Newest Minimum Labor Standards and Paid Sick Leave Mandate
The new Alaska paid sick leave and minimum wage laws, enacted through Ballot Measure Number 1, are set to take effect on July 1, 2025. The introduction of mandatory paid leave on a statewide level, the progressive increase to the minimum wage, and the new restrictions on certain employer meetings will introduce significant shifts for Alaska employers. - Paid sick leave compliance options and potential utilization of more generous paid time off policies
- Preparing for paid sick leave recordkeeping, policy, employee notice and workplace posting requirements
