Concerns about sexual misconduct in the workplace have grown more acute following the recent wave of sexual harassment scandals. You don’t need to be a cable news network, a Hollywood production company, a casino mogul, a judge or a politician to feel the ripple effect from the upsurge of workplace sexual harassment awareness. Employers, HR professionals and in-house counsel must be proactive in creating a harassment-free workplace. As the topic continues to occupy center stage, we must all be more knowledgeable about how to prevent it and how to react when claims are made.

In this session, we will cover:

  • Current state of the #MeToo movement: it’s here to stay
  • Legal recommendations for managing and preventing harassment in an organization
  • The choices HR has if it notices or learns of a #MeToo claim posted by an employee on social media
  • Rights of the accuser and the accused in an investigation
  • Best practices for handling a sexual harassment investigation
