2015 Retail Webinar Series

Attorneys from Littler’s traditional labor and retail practice groups will discuss the latest labor issues affecting retailers who are unionized - and perhaps more importantly, those who are not. Topics will include:

  • Understanding and preparing for the new “quickie election” regulations that make it easier for employees to unionize;
  • The Board’s decision in Purple Communications that may require employers to open their corporate email systems to union organizing and how it can affect other communication platforms in the retail workplace;
  • How retailers can defend against “micro-units”: what the Board’s recent decisions in favor of and against retailers tell us about how to challenge a union-proposed bargaining unit as too narrow; and
  • The Board’s focus on naming parent franchisors as joint employers in unfair labor practice cases and what it means for retailers.
