The discussion will provide employers with practical tips on how to respond to these developments in their day-to-day operations so as to avoid legal issues. This program will bring you up-to-the minute information regarding the latest legislative and regulatory activity that you need know, including:

  • The recently enacted New York Women's Equality Act, which strengthens the New York Equal Pay Act and exposes employers to greater liability for equal pay violations, expands protection for victims of sexual harassment, provides for recovery of attorneys' fees in employment discrimination cases, prohibits discrimination based on familial status, and requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations to pregnant employees
  • New regulations under the New York State Human Rights Law, prohibiting discrimination or harassment on the basis of gender identity, transgender status, or gender dysphoria
  • The new Paid Family Leave Law: timeline for implementation and how it will impact New York businesses
