Employee Personnel Records Access Law Roundtable

Littler and your fellow colleagues in the financial services industry present a highly engaging and practical roundtable discussion of New York's new law allowing current and former employees to access, review, and challenge covered personnel records. The law is scheduled to take effect on November 8, 2026, although a legislative amendment is expected to clarify its scope and application.

Attendees will receive an overview of what the new law requires, followed by a collaborative discussion with industry peers about how this law will affect employers in financial services and share practical approaches to maximize compliance.

Topics to be discussed at this roundtable include:

  • Senate Bill S3460 (A.2107), which creates for the first time a statewide right for New York employees and former employees to access, review, and challenge information contained in covered personnel records
  • Insights and lessons learned from the “Massachusetts Personnel Record Law,” which the New York law was modeled on
  • What the new law requires and how employers can prepare
  • Impacts the new law may have on the financial services industry in particular
