The Affordable Care Act has become fully effective on January 1 of this year. Now, employers with over 100 full time employees are subject to the “employer mandate” and individuals remain subject to the "individual mandate". Employers, both large and small, are very concerned about the increased costs of running their operations on account of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). At the same time, employees may be perplexed by the additional healthcare offerings that are available to them.

At this session we will discuss the ways that employers and employees are dealing with the challenges posed by the ACA. Specifically we will explore how employers are restructuring their workforces and implementing changes to their benefits plans, as well as the legal implications of these actions.
