Littler's Newest Lateral Shareholder, Linda Jackson, Bolsters Litigation Practice in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 19, 2012) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, continues its lateral growth with the addition of Linda Jackson to its Washington, D.C. office. Jackson, previously a partner with Venable LLP and a former member of its Executive Committee, joins Littler as a shareholder and will focus her litigation practice on a variety of areas, with a particular emphasis on Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) whistleblower investigations, non-competition agreements and litigation, trade secret disputes and related business competition issues. As a first-chair trial attorney, Jackson has more than 17 years of experience handling cases throughout Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia.

“We are excited to welcome someone of Linda’s excellent reputation to Littler,” said Nancy Delogu, Littler’s Washington, D.C. office managing shareholder. “With her extensive litigation experience and substantive expertise, leadership abilities, and strong ties to the D.C. and Virginia legal and business communities, Linda will be instrumental in further building upon the firm’s capabilities both inside and outside of the Beltway.”

According to Tom Flaherty, the firm’s Northern Virginia office managing shareholder, “Linda will add to our established position in Virginia and her Sarbanes-Oxley experience will enhance our capabilities in the region. We anticipate that she will contribute on many fronts and are pleased to have her with us.”

Jackson has significant experience representing clients before the federal, state and appellate courts, as well as before administrative agencies and in arbitration settings. Her focus includes the Eastern District of Virginia, and the state trial courts in Northern Virginia, including Fairfax, Arlington and Loudoun Counties. Jackson’s practice focuses on whistleblower investigations and litigation, trade secret disputes, business torts, commercial contracts, employment discrimination and wrongful discharge, executive contracts/compensation, and non-compete and non-solicitation negotiation and litigation.

“I have long admired Littler and am delighted to be working with the team in the firm’s D.C. and Northern Virginia offices,” added Jackson. “The firm’s expertise, depth, and focus on all aspects of labor and employment law, including my emphasis in the areas of whistleblower litigation and trade secrets disputes, were among the many qualities that attracted me to Littler.”

She represents clients across a broad range of industries including government contracting, professional services, supermarket chains, airlines, law firms, technology, health care, child care services, telecommunications, and commercial and residential development.

Active in the business and legal communities, Jackson has held leadership positions in numerous organizations. She currently holds the position of Treasurer for the nonprofit charitable arm of the Women’s Bar Association of Washington, D.C., the WBA Foundation and has served as president of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association (VWWA), chair of the Fairfax Bar Association Elections Committee, and was a member of the VWWA and Fairfax Bar Association Judicial Screening Committees. She was named to the advisory board for the William and Mary Journal of Women and the Law and has also served on the board of directors of The Arlington County Temporary Shelter and Volunteer Fairfax.

She is AV® Peer-Review rated by Martindale-Hubbell and was named one of the region’s leading employment defense attorneys in Washingtonian magazine. Jackson was also recognized by the National Association of Women Lawyers as an “Outstanding Woman Lawyer.”
