NEW YORK (August 23, 2022) – Miguel A. Lopez, an attorney in the New York office of Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been named secretary of the New York City Bar’s (City Bar) Trade Secrets Committee.
“We are proud to have Miguel represent Littler in his new role as secretary of the Trade Secrets Committee of the New York City Bar,” said Jeanine Conley Daves, New York office managing shareholder and co-chair of the City Bar’s Trade Secrets Committee. “Miguel is a talented attorney and his extensive unfair competition and trade secrets background will be essential in assisting the organization with its educational goals.”
The City Bar’s mission is to equip and mobilize a diverse legal profession to practice with excellence, promote reform of the law, and uphold the rule of law and access to justice in support of a fair society and the public interest in the community, nation and throughout the world. Through reports, amicus briefs, testimony, statements and letters drafted by committee members, the City Bar comments on public policy and legislation. Specifically, the Trade Secrets Committee assists section members, other attorneys and their clients in the understanding and value of trade secrets by providing educational programs and forums.

At Littler, Lopez regularly advises and represents clients on matters involving trade secret disputes, worker classification for independent contractors, unfair competition and exemptions to federal and state overtime laws. He has a special interest in start-up and gig-economy businesses, as well as minority- and LGBTQ+-owned enterprises. He has litigated in federal and state courts, and has arbitrated at FINRA, JAMS and the American Arbitration Association.
Lopez earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. from Columbia University.
