Littler Mendelson Announces New San Francisco Office Managing Shareholder

San Francisco, CA/ Jan. 5, 2009 – Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, is pleased to announce Jennifer Walt will succeed Richard Hill as managing shareholder for the San Francisco office.

During Mr. Hill’s tenure, the San Francisco office experienced significant growth, expanding Littler’s subject matter experience by attracting and retaining well-qualified employment and labor law attorneys, while continuing to provide quality representation to existing and new clients.  Ms. Walt plans to continue that momentum as office managing shareholder, and to build on the foundation of growth and leadership established by Mr. Hill.

“Jennifer was a clear choice to manage the San Francisco office given the exceptional service she has demonstrated in other key leadership roles,” said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director at Littler Mendelson. “Equally important is the creative approach she takes when confronting employment and labor law matters, a quality that truly exemplifies Littler’s commitment to providing exceptional client service.”

“I am honored to be named to the managing shareholder position,” stated Jennifer Walt. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on continuing to develop new ways to collaborate with clients and growing the firm’s business in San Francisco.”

Ms. Walt’s practice focuses on wrongful termination and employment discrimination litigation in state and federal court, and she also works closely with both public and private  employers with regard to training, developing policies, and preparing handbooks and employment agreements that comply with complex state and federal laws.  She also has extensive experience dealing with labor unrest, strikes, and picketing.

Her clients include academic institutions, technology companies, municipalities, litigation support companies, healthcare providers, food service organizations and real estate developers.

Ms. Walt received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She clerked for the Honorable James E. Barrett in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and also served as a staff attorney for the Tenth Circuit before joining Littler in 1983.  Ms. Walt is admitted to practice in California, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, Wyoming and the District of Columbia.
