Littler Global Expands to Nicaragua; Adds Local Talent

Littler Global member BDS Asesores welcomes two attorneys to new Nicaraguan office, grows service to global employers in market

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 6, 2015) – Littler Global member BDS Asesores, the leading labor and employment firm in Central America, Panama and Dominican Republic has established a new office in Managua, Nicaragua with the addition of attorneys Mariel Rodriguez and Mario Obando. Effective July 1, 2015, the new office in Nicaragua concludes Littler Global’s Central American regionalization process, which began in El Salvador in 2012.

Mariel Rodriguez Detrinidad has more than twelve years of experience in corporate and labor counseling, with extensive knowledge in social security and administrative law issues and procedures before governmental authorities, among others. She has experience conducting legal audits, drafting legal reports in a number of areas including commercial, tax, labor, social security, energy, and telecommunications matters, as well as preparing legal opinions regarding a wide array of issues.

Mariel has a Law Degree from Universidad Americana of Nicaragua and a Master’s Degree in Business Consulting, with a minor in Capital Markets from Universidad Centroamericana. In addition, Mariel has a Postgraduate Degree in Corporations Law from Universidad Centroamericana, and an International Postgraduate Degree in Criminal Procedural Law regarding Fundamental Topics of the new Procedural Code from Instituto Centroamericano de Estudios Penales of Universidad Politecnica of Nicaragua.

Mario David Obando Flores has more than twelve years of experience in the legal sector, during which he served as Departmental Inspector of the Ministry of Labor based in Granada and as corporate labor law advisor. He has also worked in the commercial accounting arena and in the areas of human relations and bargaining, labor mediation and conciliation techniques, and possesses extensive knowledge in occupational safety and health.

Mario has a Law Degree from Universidad Hispanoamericana of Nicaragua and a Postgraduate Degree in Children’s Law and Eradication of Child Labor from Universidad Centroamericana of Nicaragua.
