Littler Expands Portland Office with the Addition of Two Attorneys

PORTLAND, OR (September 6, 2013) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has increased its attorney ranks in the Portland office with the addition of associates Brian Weeks and Kelly Riggs. The office also has expanded its administrative staff with the addition of Joan Brambani as office administrator.

Formerly of Smith Freed & Eberhard, Forsberg & Umlauf, Weeks has considerable experience that includes litigating employment cases in Oregon and Washington in discrimination, trade secret, competition and wage and hour issues. He handles matters before the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, the Washington Human Rights Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Weeks also maintains an advice practice, conducts workplace investigations, prepares employee handbooks and other workplace policies, and conducts supervisor training.

In addition to his employment litigation and advice practice, Weeks is a frequent speaker before business and trade organizations on a broad range of employment issues. Active in the community, he serves as the president of the board of directors of Community Pathways, Inc. and president of the Oregon Employer Council – Tualatin Valley. He is also a member of the Portland Human Resource Management Association. He earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law (2003) and his B.A. from Central Washington University (2000).  

As an employment litigator, Riggs represents employers on a broad range of employment matters. She frequently represents clients before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Prior to joining Littler, she was an associate at Hart Wagner LLP, where she represented healthcare facilities and providers and specialized in advising clients in a variety of litigation, administrative, health law and employment matters, as well as defending civil sex abuse lawsuits.

Riggs is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the Multnomah Bar Association, the Oregon State Bar, the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute and the Oregon Women Lawyers. She received her J.D. from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College (2009) and her B.A. from California State University, Chico (2004).
