“Janell has two decades of experience in labor and employment law in Alabama and a strong track record defending employers in state and federal courts,” said Jay D. St. Clair, Birmingham office managing shareholder. “In achieving significant wins for national companies on matters related to the Fair Labor Standards Act, harassment and discrimination, Janell brings impressive trial skills and deep experience counseling employers on managing their workforces and mitigating risk.”
Ahnert counsels and defends companies in a wide range of employment law matters, including harassment, discrimination, wage and hour compliance, and whistleblowing. Ahnert provides counsel to clients in a range of industries, including food, banking and energy, and regularly represents clients in the financial services industry, including broker-dealers and banks, in employment matters before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
“I’m excited to join Littler, as the firm’s global platform will allow me to expand my practice and deliver a broader array of services to clients here in Birmingham and beyond,” Ahnert said. “Diversity and inclusion initiatives have long been a passion of mine and I am especially impressed by the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, as well as its innovative approach to programs and policies in this area.”
