Connecticut Becomes First State to Require Paid Sick Leave

This article discusses Connecticut's new paid sick leave law for service workers, which takes effect January 1, 2012 and  could create a number of troublesome compliance issues for employment lawyers. According to George O’Brien, the law's anti-retaliation provisions will create the biggest impact for clients. Additionally, those provisions aren't limited to the service workers as defined by the act, and they also apply to employers' paid sick leave policies.
