Orly Henry

Orly Henry is a battle-tested litigator and trusted legal advisor who prides herself on providing strategic and pragmatic counsel across the spectrum of legal issues that arise out of the employment relationship. Building trust in client relationships and working proactively and creatively in partnership with clients to untangle thorny legal issues are key to Orly's practice.
Orly's litigation practice focuses on defending employers in class actions. She has handled dozens of class cases, including those involving privacy claims under Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act and Genetic Information Privacy Act. Orly also has extensive experience representing the interests of employers in individual actions covering a range of employment topics, including unfair competition and trade secret disputes, employment discrimination and retaliation, and leave issues.
Highlights of Orly's recent litigation experience include:
- Resolving numerous BIPA cases on favorable terms on both class and individual bases
- Obtaining a complete finding for the defense after a five-day arbitration hearing in a matter involving FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and Section 1981 claims
- Obtaining a complete summary judgment win in a federal case involving claims of sexual harassment
- Obtaining emergency injunctive relief in Illinois federal court against a departing top executive based on trade secret, fiduciary duty and restrictive covenant claims
Orly maintains a robust counseling practice as well, advising employers regarding privacy issues; employee hiring, performance, termination, and related issues; as well as compliance matters arising under various federal, state, and local laws.
