Michelle Neidigh Maslowski has significant litigation management experience as lead counsel, including:
- Twelve trials
- Obtaining summary judgment in favor of clients on numerous employment, statutory, and business law claims
- Deposing over seventy fact and expert witnesses
- Preparing/defending depositions of client representatives
- Supervising/participating in the production of large databases of documents, including being one of four attorneys firm-wide managing prior firm’s Document Review Center and e-discovery strategy
- Creating and implementing strategy for defense of government investigation into national pharmacy client related to pharmaceutical regulations
- Defending clients in administrative law proceedings
- Creating and implementing legal strategies to ensure uniformity across multistate and complex litigation
- Briefing and arguing multiple appeals in front of the Sixth and Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals
- Creating and managing litigation budgets, including for class action and collective action defenses
- Preparing/defending clients for on-site interviews with government agencies
- Working with experts to support defense objectives
- Supervising, commenting, and drafting motions practice for over 100 cases, including answers, motions to dismiss, discovery, mediation statements, and settlement agreements
Michelle has counseled both domestic and international clients on compliance issues, best practices for litigation avoidance, employment issues, and how to streamline internal business processes, including drafting employment agreements, severance agreements, employee handbooks, and individual policies.
She has defended employers (including financial institutions, servicers and credit bureaus, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, transportation companies, general contractors, and subcontractors) in both federal and state court involving individual and class/collective action claims under Title VII, the ADEA, the ADA, the FMLA, the FLSA.
