McKenzie M. Rugo focuses her practice on advising and representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Her experience includes representing clients in wage and hour class action and lawsuits brought under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). McKenzie also regularly defends clients against claims brought under Title VII and California’s Fair and Employment and Housing Act (FEHA). In addition, McKenzie counsels clients on a wide range of workplace matters, including employee relations, compliance issues, and the handling of internal and external workplace investigations.

During law school, McKenzie worked as a summer associate at Littler. She also gained experience as a law counselor with the Workers’ Rights Clinic for Legal Aid at Work in San Francisco and the Workers’ Rights Clinic for the COVID-19 Response Team, as well as working as a law clerk at a private law firm in San Francisco. McKenzie is a proud member of the Legal Education Opportunity Program (LEOP) at UC College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly known as UC Hastings). 

Prior to law school, McKenzie worked as an investigative intern for the Whatcom County Public Defender’s Office and as a case aid at Secret Harbor Foster Agency.
