Overview

Matthew A. Swanger is an experienced litigator in both state and federal court. He represents and advises employers in all aspects of employment litigation and mediation, including obtaining temporary restraining orders and temporary injunctions during the pendency of trial. In particular. Matthew assists employers on issues related to:

  • Discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, national origin, religion, sex, age, or disability
  • Retaliation and interference with rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Workplace violence or threats of workplace violence by current and former employees
  • Violations of nonsolicitation or noncompetition agreements
  • Wage and hour collective actions and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

Matthew also has significant experience handling a variety of complex employment disputes, including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference with existing and prospective contracts, nonsubscriber defense, and trade secret violations.

Prior to joining Littler, Matthew practiced complex business litigation, representing large corporations, small businesses, and individuals on a wide range of matters on both the plaintiff and defense side. While in law school, Matthew competed in several moot court and mock trial competitions and graduated with a concentration in civil litigation.
