Lisa Lin Garcia brings extensive experience advising employers in emerging technologies and the gig economy, alongside traditional industries such as retail, manufacturing, food and beverage, and waste management. Lisa’s focus on employment litigation includes class actions, representative actions under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) and single-plaintiff cases. Lisa also regularly counsels companies on a wide range of employment law matters, including wage and hour disputes, independent contractor classification, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, disability accommodation, reductions in force; whistleblower claims, and the development of employee handbooks and personnel policies.

Lisa guides employers through day-to-day employment decisions and policy implementation, with recent experience that includes advising on wage and hour compliance issues, such as regular rate of pay calculations, reporting time pay, and compensability of shift swapping. 

She has represented employers in federal and state court litigation and before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Labor Standards Enforcement, and the California Civil Rights Department.

She is a contributing editor of the ABA Treatise: The Developing Labor Law and CEB California Wage and Hour Law and Litigation treatise.

Previously, Lisa served as a judicial extern to the Hon. George P. Schiavelli, U.S. District Court, Central District of California. During law school, she was the executive articles editor for the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal.
