Overview

John P. Nordlund's practice focuses on the defense of employers and individuals in employment litigation matters under both state and federal law with emphasis in complex wage and hour class and representative actions. John’s litigation experience includes the defense of individual and multiplaintiff, class, and representative action lawsuits, including claims under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), arising from alleged wage and hour violations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, and other claims.

John also has significant experience in defending employment matters pending before state and federal government agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Civil Rights Department (formerly the Department of Fair Employment and Housing), the California Department of Industrial Relations – Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and the California Employment Development Department.

John also has experience in providing clients advice and counseling on various day-to-day workplace and employment-related issues.

While attending law school, John served as a legal intern for the Education & Disability Clinic in the University of San Diego School of Law Legal Clinics, and as a teaching assistant in the Lawyering Skills Department. He was also a comments editor for the San Diego Law Review Editorial Board.
