As a member of the Littler CaseSmart – Charges™ team and based in California, Jeanine Scalero is responsible for handling charges from investigation to conclusion. She works on client-dedicated service teams, focusing on handling administrative agency charges. She investigates charge allegations, reviews pertinent documents, interviews key witnesses, and provides clients an assessment of the risks associated with the charge. In partnership with the client, she defends the charge by drafting persuasive position statements and responses to the agency’s requests for information.

Jeanine has over 15 years of experience practicing employment law. She has defended employers in a range of litigation matters, including complaints of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of employment contract, and wage and hour class allegations. Jeanine’s background also includes extensive experience handling administrative agency charges from investigation to conclusion. 

Previously, Jeanine was an employment defense litigator with extensive experience handling single plaintiff and class action litigation for both large and small employers.  Jeanine handled all aspects of defense from initial investigation and witness interviews, case evaluations, depositions, all forms of discovery, motion practice, court hearings, litigation strategy and resolution, mediations and settlement conferences.

Jeanine has practiced in both state and federal courts as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the Labor Board. Jeanine has also counseled employers on all phases of the employment relationship, including hiring and firing, performance reviews, disciplinary matters, internal investigations, leaves of absences, accommodations, and wage and hour matters.
