Janene Sohng represents employers in complex workplace matters involving wage and hour compliance, equal pay, class actions, workers’ compensation, workplace safety, and employment‑related tax issues. Her practice includes defending mandatory overtime investigations, advising on Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, counseling on independent contractor classifications, and guiding employers through high‑stakes Department of Labor & Industries audits, assessments, and WISHA citations. She regularly assists clients with investigations, litigation strategy, and HR advice and counsel across a range of employment law issues.
Janene brings deep agency and litigation insight from her prior service as an administrative law judge with the Washington Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals and the Department of Revenue, as well as her experience as a pro tem judge in King County District Court. She draws on this background to guide employers through premium audit disputes, WISHA citations, tax assessments, and administrative appeals, and to develop pragmatic strategies in litigation and trials.
Before joining Littler, Janene practiced at two global law firms in federal taxation and estate planning.
