Irene Yousefi focuses her practice on labor and employment law matters. She represents employers in a wide range of employment disputes and civil litigation matters. Irene has experience handling claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other issues arising under the Fair Employment and Housing Act, as well as related civil rights and common law claims. Her practice also includes defending clients in complex litigation matters involving overlapping statutory and tort-based claims.
Irene’s experience spans all phases of litigation. She regularly evaluates newly filed complaints, develops case strategy, manages written and deposition discovery, drafts and argues motions, including dispositive motions, and assists with trial preparation.
Through this work, Irene regularly advises and defends employers in individual plaintiff matters alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations, as well as pre-litigation charges and demand letters. She also supports clients in arbitration and litigation strategy, risk mitigation, and compliance with California employment laws.
Irene works with a diverse range of clients across industries, including public entities, retail and consumer products companies, healthcare systems, financial services providers, insurance companies, logistics and transportation companies, energy and infrastructure organizations, and professional services firms.
Before joining Littler, Irene practiced at regional and national law firms where she represented employers, insurers, and professionals in civil litigation. Her background includes defending high-exposure single-plaintiff matters, arbitration proceedings, and cases involving employment practices liability insurance.
