Doug Allen focuses his practice on labor and employment law matters, representing employers in a broad range of litigation, traditional labor, and workplace disputes. He defends employers in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies, in matters involving discrimination, wage and hour claims, retaliation, defamation, employee benefits, unemployment compensation, and related employment issues, and advises clients on compliance with federal, state, and local workplace laws.

Doug has experience handling matters at all stages of litigation, including case assessment, discovery, motion practice, and resolution strategy. Doug also regularly represents employers in agency proceedings before bodies such as the EEOC and state human relations commissions, and is involved in arbitration proceedings, union-related disputes, and matters involving employee benefits and pension funds, including withdrawal liability and trust fund litigation. His practice also includes managing subpoena responses, internal investigations, and pre-litigation demand matters, as well as supporting class and collective action defense.

He works with a diverse range of employers—from large, multinational organizations to mid-sized and regional companies—across industries such as retail, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, staffing, energy, and professional services, and provides practical, business-focused guidance tailored to each client’s operational goals and risk profile.

During law school, Doug served as a managing senior editor on the Notre Dame Law Review and gained practical experience as an intern to the Hon. Michael G. Gotsch, Sr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, as well as through work with a state attorney general’s office.
