Dorothy L. Young is a member of the Littler CaseSmart – Charges™ team and is based in Iowa. As a FlexTime Attorney, she is responsible for handling charges from investigation through conclusion. As part of the Littler CaseSmart process, she is part of client-dedicated service teams handling administrative agency charges. She investigates charge allegations, reviews pertinent documents, interviews key witnesses, and provides clients an assessment of the risks associated with the charge. In partnership with the client, she defends the charge by drafting persuasive position statements and responses to the agency’s requests for information.
In addition, Dodie engages in strategic settlement discussions, either through formal mediation processes or informal discussions with mediators, investigators or counsel. Where appropriate, she prepares witnesses for fact finding conferences and represents clients during on-site agency investigations.
Before she joined Littler CaseSmart, Dodie represented and advised employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, primarily in the field of employment discrimination and harassment and administrative matters. She has extensive experience conducting harassment training.
Previously, Dodie was an associate in the firm’s Chicago office and practiced law in Iowa and Atlanta for several years. In law school, she was a member of the Georgia Law Review.
