Deborah Margolis joined GQ in January 2016 as an associate following GQ's acquisition of Camfords LLP, an employment law boutique.
Deborah specialises in employment law, having trained at Camfords LLP and prior to that having gained significant experience in the employment department of Clyde & Co LLP. She practices both in contentious and non-contentious employment law, acting for both employers and senior employees.
She regularly advises clients on a wide range of employee relations matters, larger projects and termination of employment.
Deborah has assisted with a number of Tribunal claims, most recently successfully defending claims for disability discrimination, sex discrimination and unfair dismissal. Her contentious/litigation experience extends to claims in the High Court and EAT claims including breach of confidentiality and restrictive covenants. Deborah regularly drafts without prejudice correspondence, Court applications and inter partes correspondence.
During her training contract, Deborah was seconded to the pensions department of a City firm and the in-house legal department at Channel 5. She also has a particular interest in data protection, having been seconded to a client as their in-house counsel to manage their GDPR implementation project.
Deborah is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
