Ashtyn J. DeWalt is an employment and labor law attorney who partners with employers to navigate complex workplace challenges and minimize risk in an evolving regulatory landscape. She advises and defends clients across industries in single-plaintiff employment litigation and arbitration, with a focus on wage and hour disputes, leave and accommodation issues, California Fair Housing and Employment Act causes of action, and  Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and whistleblower claims. 

Ashtyn’s approach to employment law is deeply informed by her personal commitment to equity and fairness in the workplace. Grounded in civil rights advocacy, she previously externed with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, where she contributed to anti-discrimination litigation impacting K–12 public education. This experience sharpened her ability to address sensitive employment matters with empathy, cultural awareness, and strategic precision—qualities that resonate in her work helping employers foster inclusive, compliant workplaces. 

Her background also includes serving as a First Amendment research assistant at Howard University School of Law, where she honed her analytical and writing skills under the guidance of a leading constitutional law scholar. These experiences cultivated a strong foundation in complex legal analysis and reinforced her belief in the power of thoughtful advocacy to resolve disputes and prevent risk. 

Ashtyn has successfully represented clients in arbitration proceedings, including moving civil actions into arbitration towards achieving efficient and cost-effective dispute resolutions. Her experience spans all stages of dispute management, from strategic counseling to advocacy in high-stakes forums. Committed to delivering practical, business-focused solutions, Ashtyn helps employers proactively manage compliance and mitigate exposure in today’s dynamic workplace environment.
