As a brief writer for Littler CaseSmart – Litigation™ Class Action team, Amelia McDermott formulates and executes briefing strategy for cases. She evaluates and selects legal authority that supports the facts and circumstances of each case and prepares substantive briefs and motions, including complex dispositive motions, discovery motions and briefing concerning discovery and other strategic issues. Amelia is based in California.

Amelia has many years of experience in civil litigation, including complex business cases and employment-related matters. In addition, her practice has focused on law and motion as well as appeals. She is a Certified Specialist in Appellate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. 

While in law school, Amelia was a member of the Appellate Moot Court Board, the magistrar of the international legal fraternity of Phi Delta Phi, and the founding content editor of the San Diego International Law Journal.
