Alia Besharat represents employers on a broad range of workplace and employment law matters. She advises clients ranging from small businesses to multinational organizations on issues including employment agreements, workplace policies, terminations, wrongful dismissal claims, human rights, and occupational health and safety compliance. Alia maintains a robust litigation practice and has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and various Human Rights Tribunals. She regularly represents clients in mediation and other dispute resolution proceedings.
A recognized leader within the legal profession, Alia currently serves as past chair of the Ontario Bar Association's Labour and Employment Law Section Executive and is a member-at-large of the Canadian Bar Association's Labour and Employment Law Section.
