Alexis Lemajic has significant experience in both provincial and federal employment and labour law matters. She has represented clients across a wide range of industries and acted in many complex matters, ranging from daily advisory and litigation matters to corporate transactions, reorganizations and cross-border files for clients in Canada and abroad. Combining her academic background with her passion for advocacy and employment law, she leverages her corporate experience to deliver practical and diverse business solutions for her clients.
Alexis regularly advises clients on employment standards and compliance matters, policies and agreements, performance management, hiring, accommodation and return to work, termination and severance matters, human rights issues and all employment litigation matters. She has represented clients with success before courts and tribunals, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court of Appeal and Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. Alexis also has experience handling Ministry of Labour complaints and matters related to workplace health and safety. Trained in conducting workplace harassment and violence investigations, she has supported employers through workplace accidents and fatalities.
Alexis is passionate about mentorship and contributing to the profession through various publications and speaking engagements. As an adjunct professor, she taught Employment and Labour Advocacy at her alma mater – the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. She has also been featured on the radio and podcasts, written news articles for various media outlets and frequently delivers guest lectures and continuing education seminars.
