Kate Potts is one of the firm’s senior associates. She practices all aspects of employment law including contentious and noncontentious matters and day-to-day HR advisory work.
Kate is experienced in providing strategic advice on handling complex grievances and disciplinaries as well as managing senior exits and large data subject access requests. Kate regularly works with financial services firms during disciplinary processes to navigate the regulatory implications. Kate regularly advises on employment tribunal litigation including claims relating to discrimination, whistleblowing, and unfair dismissal. Kate also has experience advising on employee competition and breach of confidentiality matters which involve High Court injunctions.
Kate is particularly interested in diversity and inclusion within the workplace and she works with management teams to update and enhance their policies and practices to help achieve their diversity and inclusion objectives, including in relation to mental health initiatives, equal opportunity monitoring, and gender pay gap reporting. Kate regularly provides training on diversity and inclusion topics to managers, HR teams, and general staff.
Prior to joining GQ|Littler in September 2017 Kate worked in the employment team at Taylor Wessing in London. During Kate’s time at Taylor Wessing she completed an international work placement in Seoul as well as secondments to the in-house commercial teams at Ricoh and Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. Kate was promoted to senior associate at GQ|Littler in October 2019.
Kate is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and a member of the Junior Steering Committee of ELA.
